KSA 2024 Midsummer Flotilla

Sunday, July 28th – Sunday August 4

This year, we will start in New London the day after the Founder's Ball and sail clockwise, hitting Watch Hill, Block Island, Montauk and Shelter Island. The distances between the ports are not large, so it should allow for a relaxing cruise.

Schedule:

Saturday 7/27:  Founders Ball at Braden’s house in New London. 5pm until 9pm!

Sunday 7/28:  Sail to Napatree beach (Watch hill). Anchor and dinghy to beach. If calm, sleep on anchor, or if windy sail back to Stonington to anchor or get mooring.

Monday 7/29:  Sail to Block Island Great Salt Pond. Anchor, moor or dock at Champlins or the Boat Basin. Pick a restaurant.

Tuesday 7/30:  Lay day. Explore block island by bike/miped, dinghy to the beach; or circumnavigate Block Island around the windmills, have a beautiful lunch at the Spring house hotel.  Pot luck or pick another restaurant for dinner!

Wednesday 7/31:  Sail to Montauk and anchor deep in Montauk Lake. Raft up for the main Pot Luck of the flotilla. Docks also available. There is a nice little beach we can dinghy over to and take a hike to the Montaulk Light House.

Thursday 8/1:  Sail to West Neck Harbor Shelter Island via the inside passage. Anchor or pick up dock at Island Boat Yard. Can eat at Salt. Fun outdoor bar too.

Friday 8/2:  Sail around Shelter Island (clockwise) to Coecles Harbor. This is a really nice sail in protected waters. Raft up in Coecles.

Saturday 8/3:  Lay day in Coecles’s or break off to head home!
