Awards Party Following with pizza, drinks, live auction

FUNDRAISING

You don't have to race to fund raise, but we encourage all participants to try to raise some $$ to benefit HRCS. Last year we raised $9,225!! We're aiming for more this time, over $10,000!

In addition to the crowdrise fund raising, we will also be doing an auction with lots of really cool prizes. We encourage all KSA members to think of a prize you would like to donate. All the money raised for the auction will benefit Hudson River Community Sailing's Youth Development Programs and is tax deductible.

Online Auction: The auction is at http://hudsonsailing.org/ksa-auction/. We're still welcoming additional items to auction.  And if the price seems too high, think about getting a bunch of friends to bid together.  The online auction will stay live until the morning of the race. There will be a live auction at the Awards party (INCLUDES PIZZA and DRINKS!).

Race registration is $50, $25 of which is tax deductible; this includes admission to the awards ceremony. You can also register to attend the awards ceremony for a tax deductible contribution of $25.

APPROXIMATE TIMING OF EVENTS

11:00am	Arrive and sign in, breakfast, snacks, schmooze
12:15pm	Race Meeting
12:45pm	Boat launch (getting crew out to their respective boats)
1:30p	Boats make their way to the starting line
1:45–5:00pm	RACE (we will do as many as the weather/current allow). First gun at 1:45pm, last gun before 4:45pm.
6:00–8:00pm	Awards Party, Live Auction

• Racing will occur on the Hudson River approximately between 20th & 29th streets in Manhattan (for point of reference/spectators)
  
• Race timing is mostly slack tide.
• Up to 10 J/24 sailboats will be assigned by a lottery system during the race meeting
  
• The number of races will be determined by current conditions of the race (weather, tides, etc.)
  
• The Post-Regatta Awards Ceremony and Live Auction will be held at 521 West 47th Street #3A, a comfortable Hell's Kitchen loft space not far from HRCS, starting at 6:00pm. The party is included with the race registration fee, and is $25 if you just want to attend the party.  Pizza provided by KSA, and open bar featuring Dark 'N' Stormys and beer thanks to HRCS.
• Awards: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, “Best in Show”, “Hot Mess”,  and then “Largest Individual Donation” and “Largest Team Donation”
